West Central Division Competition Results

Please join me in congratulating all Colorado students who recently participated in the MTNA West Central Division Competitions, and their teachers. The performance categories of the MTNA Division Competitions took place last Saturday and Sunday January 7 and 8 at CU Boulder.

Colorado student is MTNA National Winner

Jessica Shand, student of Brook Ferguson, is the WINNER in the MTNA Senior Woodwind Performance Finals Competition. The MTNA Finals are held during the annual MTNA Conference, held this year in San Antonio, Texas. This is an honor for Colorado as well as the West Central Division. Congratulations to Jessica, her family and teacher for this outstanding accomplishment!

Colorado winners at MTNA 2015 Division Competition

Congratulations to the following students and teachers for representing Colorado at the MTNA West Central Division Competition in North Dakota this weekend. Every student from Colorado who performed received Winner, Alternate or Honorable Mention!

Junior Performance Piano: Honorable Mention. Anna Damerau (teacher: Natalia Sim)

Colorado student wins Composition Competition

Patrick McBrayer, student of Gabrielle Dugan in Durango, has won the West Central Division Elementary Composition Competition.

The MTNA Composition Competition is a three-stage competition-State, Division and National. Patrick 's composition was the Colorado State Elementary Composition Winner, and the West Central Division (8 states) Elementary Composition Winner. He will compete at the MTNA Final Elementary Composition round at the MTNA Conference in Las Vegas in March 2015.
